Job Description:

The role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies primarily for our third-party facilities that ensures supply maximizes value for money and improves quality for $120M spend in third party manufacturing. This position is accountable for exploring opportunities to recommend and execute supply chain optimization strategies. The role operates in a pet friendly open office environment supporting natural pet nutrition.

The Commercial Operations team is the key interface across our third-party facilities and key stakeholders such as Planning Supply R&D Finance EMQA Quality and Activity Management. This associate is responsible for supplier performance improvement proactive risk management value leadership and ensuring the delivery of exceptional business results in the following key areas:

  • Deliver Growth Innovation Strategy - New Product Launches Supplier Performance & Relationship Management and Speed to Market
  • Support our cross functional partners on global projects and projects
  • Supply Risk Mitigationfor externally produced finished goods
  • Support all project Commercial inputs for all Coman sourcing

What are we looking for

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with a focus on supply chain management business engineering procurement or operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Min 5 years of Procurement and General Supply Chain experience
  • Excellent understanding of E2E supply chain
  • In depth understanding of SPRM programs continuous improvement programs Risk Mitigation strategies; Procure-to-Pay technologies; and understanding of Supply Chain processes Import/Export Compliance activities and P&L analysis.
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Sound interpersonal and people leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex data

What will be your key responsibilities

  • Support the EMQM team to execute regional and global strategies to drive the continuous improvement of our supply chain and innovation pipeline
  • Continuous improvement of suppliers performance and relationships Management
  • Partners with operations associates to assure purchasing contract accuracy contract adherence and contract reporting
  • Achieve competitive price advantage through knowledge of markets including the relevant domestic and international economic factors.
  • Deliver market trend market development information and analysis to drive business understanding of these markets and how best to utilize the capabilities of suppliers and industry developments to deliver a competitive advantage to Mars Petcare. This includes leading creation and implementation of strategic supplier initiatives to deliver sustained competitive advantage.
  • Ability to influence others not in direct span of control
  • Proven ability to prioritize activities appropriately and make trade-off decisions as appropriate
  • Excellent analytical skills for financial assessments and issue identification along with flexible thinking to adapt to changing markets
