PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 25700 - 29000 London Weighting (5319) depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Research Executive within the Unscripted team youll support insight delivery across a variety of genres. Ranging from Factual which includes Natural History titles such as Planet Earth III Science content like Walking With Dinosaurs Docs Unit and Specialist Factual to Global Entertainment which includes the likes of Strictly Come Dancing Glastonbury Dragons Den VE Day and many more. Youll be translating data into compelling stories that influence creative and strategic decisions. Youll also collaborate with diverse teams develop expertise in audience behaviour and grow your analytical skills in a supportive insight-driven environment that values curiosity clarity and impact.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

• Support Insight Delivery: Assist the Insight Manager and Senior Insight Executives in the design analysis and delivery of research and insight projects for the Unscripted team.
  
  
  
• Desk & Data Research: Carry out desk research on industry trends competitor strategies audience behaviours and global market developments.
  
  
  
• Data Analysis: Interpreting ratings data from BARB and Nielsen analysing quantitative and qualitative survey results becoming familiar with commissioning and social listening data sources.
  
  
  
• Communicate Findings: Turn complex data into clear compelling and visually engaging insights for high profile internal stakeholders across BBC Studios.
  
  
  
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with various departments to ensure insights are integrated into strategic decisions across development commissioning marketing and distribution.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Experience in market research consumer insights or audience research working within client side or agency (preferably in the media or TV space) and use of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
  
  
  
• Exposure to using data tools such as TechEdge YouGov Nielsen Ampere or similar.
  
  
  
• Strong data analytics experience and a passion for turning data into stories.
  
  
  
• Great attention to detail organisation and time management skills.
  
  
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• A keen interest in Unscripted content and how audiences engage with it.
  
  
  
• Confidence in communicating insight clearly both in writing and presentations.
  
  
  
• A curious mindset and desire to understand audiences cultures and global media trends.
  
  
  
• Proficiency in Tableau.
