About the Team:
Our Technology team drives the evolution of our Technology Engineering Data Product and User Experience functions. With a keen focus on delivering cutting-edge solutions we shape the digital landscape for our customers readers and users. From revolutionizing visuals to optimizing tools and harnessing the power of data mobile video and social platforms our team is committed to providing a seamless and immersive experience across all touchpoints. Collaborating closely with our newsrooms and strategic partners we spearhead the development of groundbreaking products and technologies.
About the Role:
This candidate will own the product roadmap for the complex critical products building workflow tools business information products and cross-functional services that will command high prices. They will execute on the roadmap features and projects for all phases including: Discovery Design Build Launch Measure and Improve. The candidate will have experience working with engineering teams to scope estimate prioritize and drive development of product features from idea through release. This person will partner with product management design/UX marketing sales customer experience advertising and engineering in defining and reimagining this product set. Knowledge of key demographics product interactions and an innovative perspective on product development are important in this role as is experience of B2B and business information & intelligence services analytical tools & data sets and ideally professional peer groups.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Set objectives and key results (OKRs) for this product area; Drive measure and report progress towards these OKRs
Partner with engineering teams across platforms and products to plan and execute the premium product roadmap via agile workflow and methodology
Define product requirements through user stories for high profile critical initiatives and customer journey for premium users
Facilitate the decomposition of stories into technical tasks with engineering teams
Coordinate product releases across a number of development teams managing priorities timelines and dependencies
Devise and execute on plans for engaging existing premium business customers to improve retention
Create and manage budgets to ensure successful product delivery
Lead teams of geo-diverse development teams supporting and enhancing our agile practices in a fast-paced environment coordinating division-wide team initiatives that align with organizational objectives
Organize and refine portfolio backlogs ensuring our development teams deliver high quality products that meet stated success criteria
Lead manage and support PMO team members in Barcelona including peer leaders and senior managers aligning and supporting strategic initiatives across Dow Jones
Manage Technical Program and Project Managers including employee development career pathing and engagement through mentorship training and support
Experience/Skills:
12 year of experience leading the technical delivery of large-scale strategic projects in a fast-paced Agile environment
5 years of people-leader skills in staff management coaching or mentoring
A natural facilitator when it comes to collaboration/brainstorming negotiating and team building sessions
A leader coach and mentor that thrives on metrics regular feedback loops and finding challenges/activities to grow your team in the pursuit of continuous improvement
Solid understanding of Agile project management principles and how to adapt them to new business environments
Experience working with engineering teams to coordinate technical activities communicate complex requirements and manage timelines and deliverables
Experience taking core product sets and exploring unique verticals and launching premium product offerings
Experience conceiving and designing business information products data tools or similar analytical and workflow products
Ability to create and prioritize product roadmaps
Ability to take ownership to solve complex and business critical problems
Evaluate vendors and perform gap analysis of features provided
Experience with metrics reporting tools and data analysis
End-to-end Total Software Development Life Cycle experience
Very strong organization and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to track department-wide initiatives across many teams
Ability to develop delivery plans and track schedules and roadmaps
Ability to do coordination of resources and resource mapping
Ability to roll up details into high-level themes
