Job Description

Position: Transportation Coordinator of Routing

Location:Transportation Department

Reports to: Executive Director ofTransportation

Length of Employment:261 days

Salary: As per Berkeley County pay schedule with years of experienceand degree level-Coordinator index

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Successful Applicantshall possess a commercial drivers license within one year of employment
  2. Five years of school transportation (or equivalent) preferred
  3. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships within the school and community
  4. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to function effectively as a team member in determining appropriate transportation services for the children
  5. Ability to assistbus drivers and relevant school staff in theuse of transportation technology

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of school counseling techniques and referral process. Ability to coordinate the implementation of the Comprehensive School Counseling Plan. Knowledge of community resources. Ability to identify staff development needs and coordinate training and informational meetings. Knowledge of testing and measurement. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Possess computer skills for data entry and retrieval. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people including students parents agency and school personnel. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Data entry for SPED routes
  2. Maintain boundary map (Edulog map)
  3. System maintenance- batch assigns student uploads (WVEIS)
  4. Work with schools to correct errors and mismatches regarding student info in WVEIS
  5. Building level technology support: hardware and software
  6. Training new employees on the Edulog routing software
  7. Work with Edulog support team on any issues
  8. Calculate Time in Transit for state department required reporting.
  9. Run reports for schools as needed
  10. Bus rosters for attendance coding purposes
  11. Next year field reports for schools to properly code students.
  12. Lists of out-of-district students as needed.
  13. Print/file run sheets and bus rosters for bus operators.
  14. Maintain state mandated requirements for bus route histories. (3 years of previous run information)
  15. Establish and maintain email accounts Edulog user profiles and Samsara access.
  16. Provide professional development for tablets and any other technology-based resources
  17. First contact for McKinney-Vento SPED and overflow students.
  18. Technology support for schools drivers and office staff
  19. Others duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the districts approved compensation plan. 261-day contract of employment shall be established by the district.
