Profitable successful manufacturer is adding a Heat Treat Supervisor on day shift to oversee production and troubleshoot any production or quality issues in the heat treat area. As the Heat Treat Supervisor you will report to a manager who has great tenure with the company and will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Training coaching mentoring and evaluating the hourly workforce
- Function as the heat treat expert and troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues
- Promote a safety oriented culture in your department
- Operating as the point of contact for all production workers in the assigned area to answer questions related to benefits discipline attendance etc.
- Working with other departments in the plant to meet production goals and support hourly team members
- Scheduling staff to designated areas of the production floor and planning overtime based on production needs
- Ensuring that safety quality and delivery goals are met
- Following the production schedule and making modifications as needed
- Reviewing confirming and approving timesheets and vacation requests including researching any discrepancies
- Conducting disciplinary actions and staff reviews and assisting with interviewing and hiring
- Assisting with identifying process improvements and reducing quality issues
- Other duties as directed by management
This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 70% of their day. The primary goal of this position will be to coach and develop the hourly staff while supplying support as the site heat treat expert. Candidates should enjoy mentoring their staff holding people accountable have excellent written and verbal communication skills enjoy building rapport on the production floor and working within a team of manufacturing professionals. Day Shift Hours:
Monday-Friday 6:15 a.m.-4:00 p.m. to cover all three shifts
Saturday production hours are 5:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (ONLY work one Saturday per quarter on average)
REQUIREMENTS for the Heat Treat Supervisor:1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED; a technical Bachelors degree is highly preferred2. At least two years of experience as a heat treat subject matter expert including skills with gas nitride carburizing quench & temper induction hardening stress relief etc.3. Able and willing to complete lab work
4. Willing to oversee production
5. Microsoft Office experience including basic Word and Excel skillsSkills preferred but NOT required:1. Mechanical and/or technical aptitude2. ERP experience3. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
4. Experience previously overseeing production
