Job Description
Job Title: Processing B Shift Supervisor Cut Floor
Location: Onsite Waterloo IA US
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent
Position Summary
The Processing B Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cut floor operations to ensure maximum production efficiency quality and safety. This role requires a deep understanding of meat processing operations strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage production teams in a fast-paced environment.
The supervisor will act as the critical link between management and frontline employees ensuring company standards productivity targets and quality expectations are consistently met while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Quality Oversight
- Review daily production orders to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Ensure every production position is staffed before start-up.
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure workstations pass USDA inspections.
- Oversee accurate shipments inventory rotation and proper product coding.
- Track and manage reworked or returned products.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead daily team exercises job rotations and ergonomics initiatives.
- Promote safety culture through daily communication and monthly safety meetings.
- Train coach and mentor team members to build a high-performing team.
- Address employee relations issues including retention and counseling.
Operational Excellence
- Partner with other supervisors to troubleshoot production issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote lean manufacturing practices.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for production performance.
Other Duties
- Participate in limited travel (1 5 trips per year).
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in the meat processing industry (preferably pork or beef).
- Proven success leading production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong commitment and willingness to relocate to Waterloo IA.
- Demonstrated ability to train develop and motivate employees under tight production schedules.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement (CI) practices.
- Familiarity with plant floor tracking/reporting systems (e.g. SAP Kronos WMS).
- Knowledge of pork processing operations and USDA regulations.
