Job Summary

The Academic Affairs Administrator supports the strategic operations and initiatives of the Academic Affairs division by coordinating academic programs managing data and compliance processes and fostering internal and external partnerships. This position integrates advanced administrative operational and technical supportalong with project management and cross-department collaborationacross key academic service areas including but not limited to prior learning assessment (PLA) early postsecondary opportunities (EPSOs) dual enrollment academic appeals commencement coordination and curriculum and program assessment.

Job Duties

  • Ensure the College remains compliant with all relevant Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards particularly those related to dual enrollment courses and program offerings.
  • Coordinate key Academic Affairs processes including:
    • Academic suspension and appeals
    • Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
    • Local dual credit and dual enrollment initiatives
    • Commencement planning and execution
    • Major Field Exams
    • Digital textbook initiative
    • Academic Scheduling
    • Catalog and curriculum management
    • Grants management
  • Collaborate with faculty deans and department chairs to assess the health and ongoing viability of academic programs.
  • Work in partnership with the K-12 Partnership Office to manage logistics and ensure compliance with local dual credit and dual enrollment programs.
  • Support curriculum and program assessment efforts by collaborating with the Office of Institutional Research Planning and Effectiveness (OIRPE) to collect and analyze data and reports that evaluate the health and effectiveness of academic programs and curricula.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of the catalog and curriculum management systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date academic program information.
  • Oversee academic scheduling and room assignments using systems such as Banner Argos and other scheduling and reporting tools.
  • Develop maintain and analyze reports and databases to support academic planning scheduling and compliance tracking.
  • Lead initiatives related to classroom upgrades and instructional equipment replacement.
  • Maintain and update academic room inventory and faculty credentialing documentation.
  • Assist with academic innovation projects and support the Workforce Solutions Center in developing opportunity centers across the Mid-South region.
  • May perform additional administrative responsibilities as assigned to support the goals and operations of Academic Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in education organizational leadership or related field.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in higher education or K-12 administration
  • One (1) year of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of progressive management and leadership experience in an academic setting.
  • Experience in community college operations.
  • Familiarity with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards.
  • Two (2) years of Banner Student experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of academic operations including scheduling academic appeals prior learning assessment and dual enrollment and dual credit programs.
  • Familiarity with SACSCOC standards and institutional accreditation processes.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word Excel PowerPoint SharePoint Microsoft Teams and database systems (e.g. Argos).
  • Experience using Banner for academic scheduling student records and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal consultative and communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze organize and present data accurately and professionally.
  • Ability to develop and write reports correspondence and process documents.
  • Strong capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
