- Facilitate the design of the schools targeted and comprehensive school improvement plan which is focused on equity and culturally responsive practices that results in improved outcomes for students.
- Implement consistent and rigorous standards-aligned curriculum supported by high quality instructional resources.
- Provide development of all staff to provide students with powerful teaching and learning experiences that prepare them for college and career.
- Establish a strong system of professional learning that supports individual school needs and is linked to the Districts Instructional Strategy.
- Support the continued development of collaborative educator teams that regularly use student performance data to inform teaching practice and school-wide improvement.
- Facilitate the design of a targeted and comprehensive school improvement plan that results in improved outcomes for students.
- Ensure that the school provides an individualized learning experience that is tailored to students academic social-emotional cultural and behavioral needs.
- Recruit interview hire and retain high quality educators.
- Work closely with all stakeholders for form a community partnership of educators and parents.
- Promote effective communication with families and community.
- Utilize culturally sensitive practices to ensure that all families are welcome and can contribute in the educational process.
- Serve as a model for continuous learning and reflective practice.
- Promote and maintain high standards for staff students and community members in relation to the Vision and Strategic Objective of the school and district.
- Provide staff with meaningful feedback through the supervision and evaluation process that accelerates school and district improvement.
- Ensure effective usage of school supplies and for timely distribution monitoring and acquisition of proper and pertinent textbooks;
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned by Principal
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum five (5) years effective teaching experience and Masters Degree
- MA DESE license as an elementary assistant principal required
- Spanish Bilingual preferred
- Belief in our vision of Equity and a willingness to disrupt inequities and privileges within our building and education system
- Experience with a culturally diversified population
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment with Understanding by Design Performance Assessments and Instruction Round Model
- Demonstrated competence and experience in supervision and evaluation
- Proven ability to work well with parents and community organizations
- Knowledge of State and Federal Education Laws
- Ability to follow and implement school system policies and procedures
- Experience as or capability to become a leader of educational reform
- Above qualifications may be waived by the Superintendent of Schools
- Citizenship residency or work visa required
Qualifications Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish
- Experience with English Language Learners and/or Special Education Students
- Experience in collaborative educational environment and shared decision-making modeled on Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
Terms:
