The Opportunity

Austal is seeking an experiencedSupply Chain Managerto lead procurement and logistics operations within thePatrol Boat Program. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring the program meets its cost schedule and performance objectives through effective supply chain strategy and execution.

The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight across all supply chain functions fostering alignment between internal stakeholders key suppliers and customers. Working in close partnership with theStrategic Shipbuilding Organisation the Supply Chain Manager will ensure that supply chain initiatives are fully integrated with the programs operational and commercial goals driving efficiency resilience and value across the enterprise.

Whats involved

  • Develop and implement procurement and logistics strategies aligned with program objectives ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement across end-to-end supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Establish and manage program supply chain budgets monitor expenditures and lead cost-saving initiatives to meet financial targets.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on supply chain performance risks and financial metrics.
  • Manage procurement and logistics schedules to ensure on-time delivery of critical materials and services.
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking of program orders to ensure accuracy visibility and timely fulfilment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders suppliers and customers to support program success.
  • Support supplier selection contract negotiations and performance management to ensure compliance with program and commercial requirements.
  • Enforce quality standards monitor supplier performance and coordinate corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with strategic supply chain teams to identify and mitigate risks ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Youll need

  • 10 years relevant Supply Chain experience
  • Tertiary education in Supply Chain Management Commerce Logistics Business or a related field
  • Highly experience in managing supply chain activities in an ERP preferably IFS
  • Excellent negotiation stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving anddecision-making abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience within a Marine Support Engineering Manufacturing or Defence organisation (desirable)
  • Professional Certifications such as APICS (CPIM CSSCP) CIPS (desirable)
