Job Description
Position Title:Part-Time Social and Digital Media Intern
Hour Status: Non-Exempt/At Will/Starts at $10/hour
Reports to:Supervisor
Location: District Office
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate from a high school or completion of G.E.D.; college student - communications or marketing major preferred but not required
PURPOSE
The Social and Digital Media Intern will play an active role in building brand awareness and in the development of Arrow Academys online community. The Intern will maintain Arrow Academys presence on various social media platforms and help create and publish content that is relevant to our customer base.
The Intern will work 15-20 hours per week and hours can be flexible but most will be between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Immediate start date is available with an end date in mid-August.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with mainstream social media platforms
- Uses good judgement and online etiquette
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure
- Exhibits a strong work ethic
- Ability to deal with parents
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates and updates social media platforms and website
- Performs research to find articles stories resources or other content that is relevant
- Reviews data on the performance of social media platforms and adjusts plans or strategies to optimize reach
- Communicates with parents to secure information for enrollment purposes
- Complete all duties assigned by supervisors in a satisfactory manner
- Complies with the employee handbook
- Other duties as assigned
Retirement is through a FICA Alternative Plan 457(b) and not the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
