Job Summary:Acquisition Professionals LLC is seeking a seasoned Defense Trade Policy Analyst Level IV with expertise in international relations and U.S. defense trade controls to support the execution of compliance checks interagency coordination and high-level policy development. This senior-level role requires a strategic thinker who can independently manage critical functions such as Blue Lantern checks export compliance training and policy recommendations with minimal oversight.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelors degree (or higher) in International Relations and possess at least seven (7) years of relevant experience including five (5) years in a related career field. A Top Secret clearance is required. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional communication analytical and organizational skills with a proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
Key responsibilities include initiating and executing end-use monitoring (EUM) activities such as Blue Lantern checks drafting and reviewing interagency papers and cables with minimal edits coordinating training and outreach events and supporting briefings for senior government officials foreign partners and Congress. The analyst must have an advanced understanding of U.S. defense trade regulations and policy frameworks contributing directly to the development and interpretation of public policy affecting national security.
This position requires excellent judgment the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and a professional demeanor in diverse high-stakes environments.
Responsibilities:- Performs all the duties of a Level III specialist for this same track.
- Employs mastery of a professional field to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods.
- Makes decisions or recommendations significantly changing interpreting or developing important public policies or programs.
- Isolates and defines unknown conditions resolves critical problems or develops new theories.
- Provides products or services that affect the work of other experts the development of major aspects of administrative or scientific programs or missions or the well-being of substantial numbers of people.
- Independently initiates Blue Lantern checks including drafting and clearing cables with little to no edits required from team lead.
- Independently provides input into papers drafted by other State offices with little to no edits required from team lead.
- Independently drafts papers with little to no edits required from team lead.
- Oversees organization of EUM training and outreach events.
- Supports briefings to senior USG personnel foreign government officials industry and the Hill with advanced knowledge of U.S. defense trade controls
Education/Certifications:- Bachelors Degree (or higher) in International Relations and seven years of experience
- Possess a minimum Top Secret security clearance.
