Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
Enters a variety of financial information into spreadsheets and/or databases processes payments prepares invoices and issues receipts for payments and similar transactions e.g. bond refunds and restitution checks.
Receives reviews prepares and processes a variety of basic accounting and/or financial transactions which may include: accounts payable accounts receivable billings deposits and/or related transactions.
Balances daily financial transactions; produces cash reports.
Tracks and/or maintains a variety of records logs and files; files documents as directed.
Generates prepares and distributes a variety of basic accounting reports and other documents related to assigned area of responsibility utilizing established guidelines.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); and 1 to 2 years of experience in cash handling basic accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.
Knowledge:
Basic accounting principles;
Cashiering and ability to read bank statements;
Recordkeeping principles;
Data entry techniques;
Office procedures;
Knowledge of state and federal laws;
Knowledge of judicial jail and court system;
Computers and related office equipment.
Skills:
Providing customer service;
Maintaining records and files;
Perfuming basic mathematical calculations;
Tabulating recording and balancing transactions;
Operating computers and applicable software applications;
Using a computer and applicable software applications;
Communication interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisor the general public etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Physical Requirements: Positions in this class work is primarily sedentary although some slight physical effort may be required not to exceed 20 LBS.
