Where you ll be working
This health service is uniquely the first cross-border public health service to exist in Australia. Regionally situated between Sydney and Melbourne, it directly serves a local community of 100,000 and supports a catchment population of 250,000 covering North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales. The hospital is a 337-bed facility, with approximately 61,000 emergency presentations, 40,000 inpatients, and 1,650 babies delivered annually. The Emergency Department of this hospital sees an admission rate of 20, with 25 of all presentations being paediatric. This hospital is the Regional Trauma Referral Centre, supported by 24-hour imaging, pathology, and mental health services.

As Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will contribute to the management and provision of clinical excellence and patient-focused care in the ED. You will be supported by multidisciplinary staff specialists and junior doctors on a highly varied and interesting casemix. You will participate in research and quality improvement activities within the department, promoting a culture of continuous education and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to supervise, train and educate junior medical staff, as well as opportunities for your own continued professional development in a flexible clinical setting.

Salary information
Emergency Medicine Consultants can expect a salary of up to $330,000 per annum, plus a range of benefits and allowances.

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent.
