Position: Museum Coordinator

Employment Status: Non - Exempt
Schedule: 8:00AM-5:00PM Monday - Friday (Flexible with some nights and weekends required)
Compensation: Grade:5 Step:1 Starting Salary $19.59/hr
Position Summary
Works under the supervision of the Museum Manager and is reviewed for compliance with established procedures while working and through review after assignment completion and evaluation of the same.
The Museum Coordinator is responsible for supporting in the general management of the Morgantown History Museum (MHM) and Easton Roller Mill (ERM) including programs staffing exhibitions research partnerships volunteers and external relations. The Museum Coordinator works closely with the Museum Manager in assisting with the strategic direction of the Museum and helps implement the Museums exhibitions tours research projects collections management educational activities volunteer coordination and community outreach.
Primary responsibilities include the day-to-day operations and administration of the museum and mill collection and exhibition interface with visitors and coordinates volunteers or PT staff.
The Coordinator assists the Museum Manager in issues related to the maintenance of the facilities and optimizing the buildings care and use. The Coordinator uses administrative processes and procedures to enhance the museums and mills operations other museums and historic sites and members of the public. He or she is expected to take an active role in monitoring public history trends and recommending appropriately.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Requires a bachelors degree in museum studies Library and Information Science History Business Administration Arts and Culture or a closely related field or a combination of education and experience.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of experience in museum or arts management community activities or program administration and operation with some volunteer supervisory experience preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
