Job Description
Salary: Grade Dpro rata
Hours of work: Teaching Assistant 28.5 hours per week 39 weeks per year / MDSA 2.5 hours per week 38 weeks per year.
The expected working hours are 08:45 15:15 Monday to Friday.

All about the role:
This role is based out of The Mead Primary School Wingfield Site.

We pride ourselves on our comprehensive induction process and delivering ongoing professional development to all of our staff. We will give full training to the right person as we believe strongly that its much more about attitude and approach than it is about experience. As a result we welcome applications from people who are passionate about working with children no matter what their background is. The role involves but not limited to:
- Working with groups of individuals within all curricular areas under the direction of the teacher to develop their physical intellectual emotional and social skills
- Assisting with learning activities to develop childrens knowledge through support and encouragement
- Preparing activities ensuring that appropriate materials and equipment are available and assisting in clearing away afterwards
- Supporting the preparation and adaptation of teaching aids games and worksheets as directed
- Meeting childrens pastoral needs for praise comfort encouragement reassurance and care
- Taking responsibility for the welfare and hygiene of children
Ideally you will have a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning and be trained in First Aid or willing to undertake training.
As well as your core Teaching Assistant responsibilities you will act as a Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) supporting children in the hall to have a calm and enjoyable lunchtime or be based on the playground supporting children with engaging in the varied lunchtime activities.

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed. We will only submit a DBS application to the relevant disclosure service when a position is accepted.
