About MHP
Big firm expertise with small firm customer service.With over 75 employees MHP is the largest regional CPA firm in Wyoming. However since our start in the early 1930s MHP has been dedicated to personalized customer service to both our employees and clients. MHP is deeply rooted in the Cheyenne community both figuratively and literallynot only have we been around for over 90 years but our office is also located in the heart of downtown Cheyenne within walking distance of good food coffee and breweries.

Who You Are
- Have a Bachelors degree; Masters degree/CPA preferred not required.
- You have 2 years of Tax experience
- You are friendly and professional.
- You are highly organized and detail oriented.
- You are willing to embrace moments of pressure and tight deadlines during busy season(s).

The Role
Prepare and review tax returns for Individuals Corporations S-Corporations Partnerships Trusts and Estates. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team. Senior Tax Associate must be professional at all times and will have recurring direct client contact. This position involves critical thinking and attention to detail. The ideal candidate must be able to work rapidly accurately and under pressure during tax season to meet tight deadlines.
The Duties:
- Increased complexity level of projects. Must demonstrate ability to take a messy trial balance and provide AJEs to correct it.
- Prepare complete and accurate returns. Review others returns.
- Prepare documentation to support tax return calculations.
- Ability to mentor Tax Associates.
- Reviewing data input identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Work closely with managers and partners and keep team informed on status.
- Increased level of client communication while working on their tax return and potentially throughout multiple years.
- Understand federal state and local tax codes.
- Show what you know! You have the knowledgenow apply it to real life situations. Thinking outside of the box is encouraged as well.
- Share your ideas and opinions with your team.
- Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis and apply what you learn to your assigned tasks.
