Description

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSSrelated work Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada by Canadians.

The HR Systems Projects Intern is part of HR Project team responsible for implementing new Oracle HCM modules and updating aspects of modules that are already in place. This position is ideal for an individual who is keen on developing skills in business and system analyses stakeholder communication and project management and system implementation.

Note: Due to business needs the individual in this position is required to be fully on-site alternating primarily between the Capilano Business Park and Harbourside offices.

What youll do

  • Assist process specialists process owners and business analysts by conducting research compiling information and drafting and updating business process and business requirements documentation.
  • Collect and analyze data and information to support decision-making.
  • Participate in process and system testing issue tracking and resolution and testing documentation creation and updates.
  • Monitor until completion the closure of RAID items.
  • Support the project team by preparing agendas setting up meetings and workshops coordinating activities and following up on action items.

What youll bring

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (e.g. Bachelors degree Diploma) in Business Administration Information Technology Project Management Human Resources or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior exposure to corporate systems is an asset but not required.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship: Monday September 8th 2025.

End Date of Internship: Friday May 1st 2026 (8-Months).
