Otterbein has an employment opportunity for a Full-Time Maintenance Assistant on our campus. They will provide a safe environment for residents guests and employees. They enhance the lives and nurture the growth of older persons by providing high quality service in a cheerful timely manner and by communicating coordinating and cooperating with others to attain goals.
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Tech is to work closely with the Maintenance Director and to assist in all phases of Maintenance Transportation & Grounds keeping tasks throughout the Otterbein Campus. This includes completing assigned jobs related to painting plumbing electrical carpentry moving mechanical and other general repairs. This also includes assisting with scheduled transportation.

Shift: Full Time 8am-4:30pm
The position is first shift however on call and weekends may be needed
Responsibilities
- Maintains a comfortable safe and secure environment for the residents their families visitors and partners.
- Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks including general repairs plumbing electrical carpentry etc.
- Assists with moving of residents furnishings as needed.
- Paintsresidents living quarters as needed.
- Assists with theon-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning repairing and operating equipment which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
- Assists withgroundskeeping weeding mulching and snow-removal.
- Assists with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan fire drills disaster plan smoking policy fire alarm testingfire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports generator testing logs water temperatures flame spread ratings of interior finishes and other maintenance records.
- Assists with transportation tasks as needed.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- Interacts positively with residents family members guests and personnel
- Follows all established policies procedures and regulations to assure that quality resident care is maintained
- Communicates coordinates and cooperates with other team members
- Maintains resident rights and confidentiality
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid drivers license and credible proof of insurability.
- Experience: General Maintenance - Electrical Plumbing and Carpentry Experience Mechanical Experience on H.V.A.C. Mowers and Vehicles.
