We currently have an opening for anIT Business Systems Analyst II
This vacancy is open to current North Carolina state government and current UNC System employees only or previous NC state government and UNC System employees with unexpired RIF priority re-employment rights. Current temporary employees working in NC state government or in the UNC System will also be considered.
The IT Business Systems Analyst IIserves as a Tier 2 Specialist in Client Services which is advanced level professional work that provides consultation support and/or training in technology-based systems for computer users.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for hardware procurement policies and procedures consulting with vendors along with maintaining asset management to account for unique technology cycles
- Serves as the subject matter expert for the advanced statewide IT solutions for NCDOT including NCDMV
- Analyzes and formulates new methods of applying computer technology to the solution of operational problems of the business
- Provide technical support advice and assistance to consumers and businesses with technical hardware and software systems problems

To qualify for this position applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
- Demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems through system analysis and/or troubleshooting procedures
- Experience leading projects that require directing the work of others with some latitude on actions or decisions
- Experience with different types of computer hardware mobile devices software peripherals and components networking protocols and/or audio/visual technologies
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in business administration computer science or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business consultation process improvement or requirement gathering in an information technology environment
OR
Associate degree in business administration computer science or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience in an information technology environment
OR
High School or GED and five years of related experience in an information technology environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

If you do not currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned duty station new hires are granted up to 120 days from their start date to relocate.
