Job Description

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Chair/PAL of CAT (Management) the CAT Technical Operations Manager provides primary support for the CAT Program Areas technology infrastructure and related applications in studios computer labs classrooms and other areas on the Bloomfield College campus. This position works closely with the CAT and its technology support staff.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop maintain and advocate for technology and its integration suitable for CATs mission:

    • Research new and emerging technology to keep CAT technologically advanced distinct and competitive.

    • Understand and assist with the implementation of computer hardware and peripherals in CTC (Center for Technology Creativity) with the overview of the CAT Facilities Manager.

    • Improve existing infrastructure processes and procedures and software by evaluating objectives and specifications reviewing proposed changes and making recommendations.

    • Lead and/or participate in technical and departmental projects developing project plans communicating tasks and deadlines.

  • Provide workshops and training as requested.

  • Manage the Windows and MacOS systems of CAT Program Area keeping software reliable and updated including OS and standard packages Adobe CC Unity etc. on CAT equipment.

  • Provide local hands-on support for Bloomfield College campus CAT devices in coordination with the TSS Endpoint Engineering team.

  • Maintain set up and repair of Motion Capture systems and studio 1

  • Maintain configure and repair printers3D Laser cutter and Specialized printers.

  • Work closely with CAT Facilities Manager / Audio Technologist to integrate maintain and repair audio technology.

  • Assist CAT Facilities Manager / Audio Technologist and CAT Support Technician as needed with Equipment Lab Categrafica equipment maintenance usage and repairs in order to maintain daily operation in CTC / CAT academic program.

  • Work with any student employees who may be assisting with the day-to-day CAT operations.

  • Attend weekly and monthly CAT Program Area Meetings.

  • Attend and participate in departmental and university events and functions.

  • Support all areas of CAT that require IT support including classrooms and areas which may not be in CTC used and supported by CAT and provide basic support to those who oversee the Van Fossen Theatre and Westminster Hall.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or a relevant field.

  • Three years of professional experience in systems and/or network administration and support preferably in an institution of higher education or a related field.

  • Familiarity with common networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS DHCP etc.) and how they are applied to servers and client devices.

  • Working knowledge of server operating systems such as Unix/Linux Windows Server and MacOS.

  • Experience supporting Windows Mac endpoint devices including but not limited to networked printers.

  • Advanced understanding and experience in installation configuration and troubleshooting with various desktop operating systems such as Windows (10 or higher) and MAC OS (Monterey or later) in an enterprise environment.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends to fulfill responsibilities.

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of client management tools such as Intune and JAMF.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows systems administration skills.

  • Experience and/or exposure to security operations through work experience within any IT discipline and/or security certification and training.

  • General understanding of motion-capture facilities and related technologies.

  • Familiarity with various 3D printing technologies and experience using 3D printers and laser cutters.

  • Experience managing incidents through a ticket management system (e.g. Service Now).

Salary Range

$71400.87-$73899.90 Annually
