We are seeking a proactive Assistant Finance Control Accountant to join our team. This role will support cash forecasting intercompany settlements journal processing and bank account management.
This role is a 9-month contract role based in our Heritage Lanes office in Brisbane CBD.
What youll do
- Assist with daily and monthly cash forecasting including funding requirements and intercompany settlements.
- Prepare and process journals payment transfers and investment instructions.
- Assist with coordinating required changes to bank account authorities ensuring alignment with employee terminations or changes in divisions.
- Support ad hoc requests for opening or closing accounts and linked facilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of financial tasks.
- Assist in maintaining financial documentation guidelines and work instructions.
What youll bring
- A degree in accounting would be desirable
- Chartered Accounting (CA) or CPA Professional Accreditation (or working towards) desired
- 2 years experience in accounting particularly with General Ledger regulatory and financial reporting is highly regarded.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to process and interpret large data sets.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas pivot tables and data analysis) and Word.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment with a strong focus on confidentiality and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Oracle or similar general ledger systems is preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to challenge the status quo in a collaborative and positive manner.
- A keen interest in learning and sharing knowledge with others.
