Payroll Specialist - Full Time
Come join Mountain Engineerings Administrative team. Our dynamic administration team supports our Professional Services Division Civil Construction Division and Electrical Line Division.
We are hiring for a Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate has extensive Excel data entry and full payroll processing experience. This position reports directly to the Payroll Lead and is responsible for processing weekly payroll.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process full cycle in house payroll weekly following documented process and procedures
- Prepares weekly payroll information by collecting and entering data in Excel
- Pre and post audits for data integrity and accuracy
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
- Robust Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants clients and upper management
- Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
- Attention to detail and critical thinking is expected
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
- Union payroll experience
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Spectrum accounting experience a plus but not required
