Summary: The Operations Manager supported by their team is primarily responsible for the safe and successful operation of water treatment assets at the sites of an internationally recognised customer base. This is a broad ranging role which impacts all aspects of the plant e.g. safety Resource Management process performance maintenance execution of development projects and commercial contract management.
By managing resources risk/cost and delivering on contractual commitments the Operations Manager will drive operational excellence and ensure high reliability and efficiency of the water and wastewater systems. The Operations Manager will also drive continual improvement and generate value for customer throughout the contract life.
The Operations Manager will need to demonstrate / develop a high degree of Contract management ability to successfully deliver on multiyear service-related contracts. It will be necessary to simultaneously represent the different interests of several parties in any situation and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders in both positive and challenging situations is important.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance and implementation of Quality Health & Safety Environment (QHSE) systems.
Visible leadership on QHSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation and internally.
Respond appropriately to emergencies & manage incidents in conjunction Management team.
Collaborate with all Support functions (QHSE Technical Asset Care Coordinator & Finance).
Own contract and or Environmental Permit compliance.
Control of Operational Budget and site performance.
Control of costs on projects & provide Project Leadership where needed.
Analyse operational and process risks within the context of a long-term site service contract and manage their mitigation.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with Customer personnel SIW teams and sub-contractor staff.
Act as primary customer interface for assigned contracts.
Build a reputation for meeting and exceeding performance indicators.
Identify threats and opportunities in the operation of the plant and respond to these.
Identify and assist in delivering business develop opportunities at customer site.
Proactive management of improvement project planning and maintenance planning.
Highlight and fill in gaps associated with technical documentation and procedures.
Uphold staff welfare.
Ensure proper resources are available and sufficiently trained / experienced.
Carry out on the job training of technicians (supported by Territory Manager).
Ensure team exhibit proactive attitude and approach to maintaining and Continually Improving plant performance. This will also include value generation.
Support the development of a culture of ownership involvement and accountability within the plant operations team.
Lead by example.
Take on additional responsibilities as the company may reasonably require.
Required Skills/Qualifications (Essential):
Background or qualification in (any of): Water treatment/ION Exchange / Chemistry / Chemical engineering / Contract Management.
Experience working directly with a customer including attending facilitating and contributing to meetings.
Leadership experience in the management of a team of operators skilled technicians and engineers.
PC literacy.
Experience of sales process to extend services offered to customers.
Time management skills.
Flexibility.
Required Skills/Qualifications (Desirable):
A leadership role in Water treatment operations.
Demonstrated technical or operational knowledge of water treatment including ion exchange.
Training/Experience in Quality Environmental Health and Safety system.
Project management experience.
Contract & Subcontractor management.

The salary is between 41500 & 51500 per year depending on your professional experience.
Holidays 25 days 8 statutory days.
Probationary Period 6 months.
Pension Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months - Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice.
Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation.
Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment.
Notice 1 week during probation increasing to 1 month thereafter.
