Job Description
- Perform advanced cardiovascular surgeries including coronary artery bypass grafting and valve replacements.
- Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Lead surgical teams during procedures ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Monitor patient recovery and manage post-operative complications effectively.
- Collaborate with cardiologists anesthesiologists and other specialists for comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Participate in complex case discussions and offer expert opinions on challenging cases.
- Conduct research and contribute to academic publications in cardiovascular surgery.
- Supervise and mentor fellows and residents in surgical techniques and patient management.
- Engage in continuous professional development and keep up to date with surgical advancements.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform hospital rounds and provide consultations in the critical care setting.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality assurance throughout the surgical department.
- Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery.
- Proven track record of conducting complex surgical procedures.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Exceptional clinical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
- Experience in academic or teaching hospitals preferred.
- Familiarity with advanced surgical technologies and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid medical license to practice in the respective location.
- Research experience and publications in relevant medical journals are advantageous.
