We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 2-General Health Nurse to our hospital in Dublin. Permanent Full time.
Responsibilities
- Offer residents a variety of physical health monitoring and treatment options.
- Together with the GP and MDT people with chronic illnesses and long-term problems such as diabetes respiratory disorders and COPD coronary heart disease obesity and hypertension and smoking cessation should be monitored and managed.
- As required by the service administer immunizations and vaccinations to residents and employees.
- Perform screening which includes but is not limited to blood pressure checks height weight BMI urine ECG spirometry and tests for new residents.
- Perform general nursing tasks such as ear irrigation phlebotomy health promotion and education giving long-term prescription drugs or injections etc.
- Skin/Wound Care responsibilities include but are not limited to managing psoriasis and eczema treating venous leg ulcers and other skin injuries and evaluating and treating cuts on the skin.
- Use a systematic audit program to critically assess and analyze physical health monitoring and care procedures in order to prove adherence to Mental Health Commission regulations and general health monitoring requirements.
- Communicate with nurses and other medical personnel regarding physical care interventions monitoring tests and clinical and physiological findings.
- Provide instructions and conduct audits about the proper use of monitoring equipment and medical devices.
- Assist the Multidisciplinary Team members with physical healthcare and infection control projects.
- Conduct audits to examine adherence to physical health care policies and provide recommendations for next steps based on findings.
Requirements
- Must be an NMBI-registered registered general nurse or registered psychiatric nurse.
- At least three years of experience as a registered nurse.
- It is advantageous to have prior experience dealing with adult mental health services.
- Advanced abilities in healthcare.
- Expertise in primary care practice venous puncture/phlebotomy and ECG monitoring.
- Expertise in managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes heart disease COPD etc.
- Proficiency in nursing practice and evaluation in the areas of tissue viability continence and the management and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries.
- The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities; IT expertise.
