Are you looking for meaningful and rewarding work with a company that offers a great benefits package We are currently seekinga fulltime Support Assistant (37.5 hours) to join our team in Rayleigh.

There will be variety in your day-to-day role alongside excellent training. This home supports 3 service users and offers private off-road parking with good local bus links available too (or 15 minute walk from Rayleigh train station). You will support theresidents by offering person centred support and a choice of daily activities to providea fulfilled and meaningful quality of life.

The current shift pattern is 7:30am 8pm (though subject to change dependent on service needs) and extra sleep-in shifts are available but not essential.

The current support needs include individuals with dementia down syndrome and support with insulin dependent diabetes. The service users enjoy a variety of interests outside of the home and are very active.

Our services do require 24-hour support and staff are expected to work some bank holidays and weekends in line with the services needs but flexibility can be discussed at interview stage. Your responsibilities will include:

  • To provide person centred support to people with all aspects of their daily living including but not limited to personal care and involvement in the community.
  • To maintainrecords of support providedand to actively contribute to support planning and periodic reviews.
  • To positively contribute to our values of Respect One Estuary Accountable & Responsible.
  • To be able to actively participateand contribute to providinga 24-hour service that is Caring Safe and Responsive to the needs of the people we support in an effective and well led manner.
  • To develop and maintaineffective professional relationships with service users and other key stakeholders such as family friendsand advocates.
  • To take responsibility for shift leading as per the rota in operation.
  • To actively participatein regular team meetings supervisionsand other meetings.

You are required tohave the following:

  • Basic understanding and promoting of the needs rights equalityand diversity of the people we support of people with disabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of the regulators and legislation that govern our services and an understanding of where to find this information.
  • The ability to communicate effectively orally in writing electronically with colleagues and the people we support.
  • The ability to work effectively both alone and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of Learning Disabilities is desirable.

Full training will be provided someone new to the sector can fulfil this role following a successful interview we will then support the successful applicant to complete the Care Certificate within their probation.
