Job Description:

As R&D Engineer you will join the Technology Center South Europe part of the global Technology organization of Business Unit Transformer. As member of our R&D team located in Monselice (Italy) you will contribute to the execution of projects related to short circuit withstand of power transformers supporting as domain expert the design platforms.

How youll make an impact

  • Propose and develop new technologies products and processes for core type transformers.

  • Lead and manage R&D projects self-driven on time on budget and with the required quality following Hitachi Energy internal standards and processes.

  • Maintain existing and develop new technical standards and design tools for transformers.

  • Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports specifications and/or participating in educational programs.

  • Assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement.

  • Support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise.

  • Support platform developers creating technical specifications in your domain of expertise.

  • Develop manage and expand relationships with stakeholders internal functions Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g. customers universities). Providing proposals for possible partnerships.

Your background

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 5 years experience in Power Transformer industry.

  • Good experience in power transformers design testing and manufacturing.

  • Solid knows in Short Circuit physics in power transformers.

  • Good knowledge and use of finite element electromagnetic analysis programs.

  • Good design experience of dedicated calculation and verification software/applications into engineering design tools.

  • Knowledge of one or more programming languages (C# C Python ...) will be considered as a plus.

  • Knowledge of the fundamental mechanical calculation and verification of structures (bending torsion ... etc.) and the physical characteristics of the main materials for power transformers manufacturing will be considered a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to present technical concepts to various stakeholders
