Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Governance Architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) particularly with Dataplex to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade data governance frameworks. This role will be instrumental in shaping our data strategy ensuring compliance and enabling trusted data access across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement data governance frameworks using GCP Dataplex ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy and regulatory requirements.
Define and enforce data policies metadata standards and data quality rules across structured and unstructured datasets.
Collaborate with data engineers and platform teams to integrate Dataplex with BigQuery Cloud Storage Dataflow and other GCP-native services.
Lead data cataloging and classification efforts ensuring discoverability and lineage tracking of enterprise data assets.
Establish access controls and security policies using IAM and Dataplexs policy tags to ensure secure and compliant data usage.
Drive adoption of DataOps and MLOps best practices enabling scalable and automated data governance processes.
Mentor and guide data stewards analysts and engineers on governance tools and practices.
Support audits and compliance initiatives by providing traceable and auditable data governance documentation.
Required Skills & Experience:
10 years in data architecture data governance or data engineering roles.
3 years of hands-on experience with GCP including Dataplex BigQuery Cloud Storage and Data Catalog.
Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA) and compliance frameworks.
Experience with metadata management data lineage and data quality tools.
Proficiency in SQL Python and Terraform (for infrastructure-as-code on GCP).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
