Job Description

Position Summary

The Community Engagement and Outreach Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with the community building strong relationships with stakeholders and promoting the City of Philadelphias mission and programs. This role requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication networking skills to lead outreach efforts and ensure that the Philly311 remains connected with the communities it serves.

Essential Functions

The Community Engagement Manager plays a vital role in building relationships between city government and the community it serves. Their primary focus is to foster engagement increase awareness and develop partnerships that align with the City of Philadelphias mission and goals.

Required Competencies Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strategic planning and relationship building
  • Familiarity with government operations civic engagement and underserved communities
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.

Qualifications :

  • Education: Bachelors degree in public relations Communications Public Admin or a closely related field and at least 4 years of experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in community engagement outreach or a related role.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong networking and relationship-building skills with experience working with community groups nonprofits and local government.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite social media platforms partner portals and experience with CRM software.
  • Cultural Competency: Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Salary Range: $70000 to $80000
