General Information:

The Education Support Center (ESC) is accepting applications for a Coordinator of Field Experience. The ESC works with teacher education programs and candidates to monitor admission to field experiences in and licensure for preservice preparation Coordinator of Field Experience is responsible for all aspects of the placement process for initial teacher licensure field experiences for quality placements for practicum and student teaching.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities for this position include:
#1: Manage Field Experience Administrative Process: Primary contact for field experience communications. Responsible for managing all aspects of the field placement process for initial teacher licensure field experiences for 2000 quality placements per year for practicum and student teaching in support of all teacher education licensure programs across the University including data management and communication. Establish policies and processes with a lens toward educational justice as related to field experience. Serve on related committees. Be committed to providing a broad range of culturally responsive experiences.

#2: Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders: Work positively with Education Support Center administrative staff in support of processes. Collaborate with programs to develop a strategic plan related to the practical experiences required in each program. Differentiate to meet the needs of each program.

#3: Establish and Nurture Partnerships with LEAs: Communicate with contacts in school divisions state-wide establish and nurture partnerships related to field experiences in collaboration with teacher education program coordinators and academic unit heads to meet the needs of programs. Serve on Mid-Valley Consortium.

#4: Manage Field Experience Data: Collect and analyze data related to field experiences in collaboration with Assessment staff for program evaluation. Use data to support decisions and share data with stakeholders. Present findings through scholarly endeavors.

#5: Support Student Success: Communicate with all students providing information and orientations related to field experiences. Work with the Executive Director of Teacher Education and Student Success to develop evaluate and support innovative and effective experiences for teacher candidates.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
-A masters degree in Education or related field
-Administrative experience in public school settings and/or higher education settings
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail workload prioritization and monitoring complex processes
-Ability to collaborate
-Strong proficiency in MS Office particularly with spreadsheets
-Ability to work with data management systems

Preferred Qualifications:
-A doctorate degree in Education or related field
-Supervision and/or leadership experience
-Knowledge and experiences with university information systems e.g. Microsoft Teams or PeopleSoft
-Familiarity with Virginia Department of Education regulations regarding teacher preparation programs
