Main position objectives
The Machine Operator will produce high quality precision tooling used in the Maag family of products. They will use
the necessary machine shop equipment in the production of this tooling in a safe and productive manner. Will work in a team-oriented environment with individual responsibilities in specific machining process.
Position description Tasks responsibilities competencies
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Perform basic set-ups and operate machine shop equipment as designated by the machine shop supervisor
- Use the most effective and efficient methods to operate each machine.
- Set the correct machining parameters for the use of each cutting tool.
- Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to assure the product meets all print and customer requirements.
- Enter data in a data base.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
The incumbent considers all interests of quality accident prevention and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people facilities assets material and environment actively

Work Environment
- Work in this position is in a machine shop environment. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles metal shavings sharp cutting tools and moving mechanical parts. PPE and hearing protection are required at all times.
Physical Requirements
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to stand walk or bend. The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Experience in grinding of steel
