Job Description

Department Overview

The Ambulatory Project Manager is responsible for the planning understanding coordination implementation execution control and completion of the activities to ensure that our ambulatory practices are staff in line with internal and external benchmarks. The Ambulatory Project Manager will partner with leaders and other stakeholders across the Healthcare Mission to ensure OHSU reduces unnecessary costs improves efficiency and improves provider satisfaction within clinical care delivery. Additional focus will be ambulatory access internal benchmarks and working with Ambulatory Practice Optimization and our Performance Improvement Consultants to ensure consistent and efficient resources across our ambulatory platform.

The Ambulatory Project Manager will work collaboratively with all areas within the clinical enterprise to ensure timely process change and utilization improvements. The Ambulatory Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring project deliverables are on time and on budget.

In addition to serving as the Ambulatory Project Manager this role may also assist the VP Ambulatory Operations in his/her role to establish appreciate activities and oversight of utilization through the OHSU Partners system.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Collaborates with OHSU clinical leadership and clinical leaders from planning through project completion.
  • In consultation with Project Teams facilitates identification of key stakeholders communication needs and ensures appropriate stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Fully develops the comprehensive Project Plan for identifying quantifying understanding communicating and implementing actions to support lower costs and efficient care delivery. Vets the final draft of the Project Plan with Project Teams and secures final approval.
  • Develops a comprehensive and detailed budget for the project. Vets the final draft budget with the Project Teams and secures final approval.
  • Delivers and maintains project document plans reports and related communications and correspondence.
  • Maintains documentation as indicated on the appropriate online site.
  • Coordinates schedules and facilitates project meetings; documents meeting minutes action items and tracks completion of action items.
  • Ensures a strong line of communication on project deliverables timelines updates outcomes risks and budget.
  • Designs and recommends a method for regular stakeholder updates taking into consideration standard work tools. Prepares and delivers presentations as indicated.
  • Identifies and recommends approaches to issues and identifies the most effective means of solving issues engaging best practices and doing so in a timely manner thus insuring project success.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on project management.
  • Engages others to join in a culture of collaboration and accountability for project deliverables.
  • Is a subject matter expert with Vizient and other relevant benchmarking tools used for ambulatory and physician practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration Management Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education training and experience
  • 3 Years experience leading and managing largescale projects.
  • Demonstrate ability to be a self-starter and with experience to know when to escalate key issues
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of trends systems and techniques that contribute to the effective management of talent acquisition and building and executing on strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean/Project Management training.
  • Project Management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Project Management experience in a large organization (over 10000 employees).

Additional Details

  • The work occurs in a typical office environment within a hospital setting.
  • Work hours are as required to complete assignment core hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. There will be need to participate in recruiting events which can occur outside core hours. Due to the nature of this position it is expected that there will be out of town and out of state travel to recruiting events. This may include travel on the weekend.
