Job Description

Supreme Steel is
currently looking for quality driven experienced
Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Trainer to join our production team
at our facility in Saskatoon SK. Successful candidates for this position must be conscientious have extensive experience fabricating all types of custom structural steel. As a trainer of the fabrication team this role revolves around enhancing employee competencies skills and performance while promoting a safe work environment.

These are full-time unionized positions which may be required to work night shift.

Preferred Fabricator Fitter Trainer candidates will possess the following attributes:

  • Extensive Fitting experience with custom heavy structural steel projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety procedures
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings
    • Ability to operate shop tools grinders drills oxy fuel cutting torch
    • Must have a Fabricator (Fitter) Journeyperson Red Seal certification
    • Welder Journeyperson Red Seal certification would be an asset
    • Has 10 years experience as a Fabricator (Fitter) Journeyperson
    • Knowledge of welding procedures
    • CWB certification
    • Provide efficient training to all levels of fitters
    • Develop and deliver a training program to enhance fitter skills knowledge and overall performance
    • Able to lead and guide fabrication personnel to solutions for fitting various types of steel
    • Conduct assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements within the fitting department
    • Assess effectiveness of training and make necessary adjustment to improve outcomes
    • Provide guidance and support to trainees helping them apply their new skills and knowledge
    • Work with managers to ensure training aligns with organizational goals
    • Ensure training complies with organizational policies and regulations
    • Evaluate employee performance to gauge where skills are lacking
    • Ability to identify opportunities to increase throughput and demonstrate proven results
