SUBJECT: Athletic Coaching - South High - Junior Varsity Football - Fall 2025REPORTS TO: Building Principal and the Director of Intramural and Interscholastic Athletics Football season runs from August 15 2025 and will end approximately on November 27 2025 pending Director of Intramural and Interscholastic Athletics will meet with all fall coaches prior to the start of the OBJECTIVE: To organize coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement. To demonstrate a high degree of ethics professionalism human relations and be a positive role model for all RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Responsible for planning organizing and implementing the teaching of fundamentals strategies rules and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.2. Issue collect inventory and return equipment uniforms and other materials (e.g. team roster first aid kit coachs handbook) consistent with department guidelines.3. Responsible for adequate supervision of all students involved in the program and ensuring the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions.4. Responsible for supervision of student athletes in locker rooms and on buses.5. Instruct participants in safety procedures and in the need to report injuries to the coach and/or trainer immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit.6. Responsible for submitting coachs game report within 24 hours of each game.7. Responsible for completing and submitting the following to the Athletic Director and the appropriate principal:Accident ReportsDisciplinary ActionParent Complaints8. Responsible for attending a variety of sporting events and related activities including Wellness Programs as assigned.9. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Intramural and Interscholastic Athletics including but not limited to:Eligibility list with grades and attendance at the start of each seasonCollection of each form given at the beginning of each season from the playersAdhering to the policies and procedures of the Coachs HandbookSigning and returning the coachs evaluation at the completion of each seasonREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Expertise and training in appropriate areas of athletics (rules of sport techniques of coaching) organization and administration2. Thorough working knowledge of MIAA Policies and Procedures3. Demonstrated ability to work with students officials and the community4. Commitment to provide equal opportunity in sports for all students5. CPR Certification6. First Aid Certification 7. MIAA Coach Certification8. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs4. Ability to speak Albanian Arabic Nepali Portuguese Spanish Vietnamese or an African Language. 5. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisitionNOTE: Preference will be given to qualified candidates for coaching positions who possess MIAA certification. Individuals enrolled in courses leading to MIAA certification are eligible to apply.
