Job Description
Durango School District 9-R is accepting applicationsfrom CURRENT DURANGO SCHOOL DISTRICT 9-R EMPLOYEES ONLYfor Student Council Specialist Advisor at Durango High School. The Student Council advisor manages the student governement activities curriculum events and student activities throughout the school year. They oversee the council in planning major events throughout the year including but not limited to homecoming prom assemblies and National Council of Excellence process. Begins July 11 2025.
Your role as a specialist assistant advisor would be to support the head advisor share supervision responsibilities throughout the school year that include evenings and weekends. It would be ideal to support during classtime as well but being the specialist assistant your time committment is more flexible.
- model and mentor students in developing leadership skills
- assist with instructing the DHS Student Council
- supervision of students on day and overnight trips
- administrative tasks related to the DHS Student Council
- model and mentor respect for students staff and community
- guidance of the DHS Student Council
