But so what is this job
As a school meals worker you will be the smiling face representing us in the school. All meals are prepared in our headquarter in Nenagh Tipperary and then delivered to the schools. Its from there that youll take over. Your duties will consist of heating the meals in the oven and then distribute them to classrooms.
Thats a little vague so if you love attention to detail heres a list for you:
- Load pre-packaged school meals into ovens.
- Turn on oven and heat meals to specific temperature according to HACCP guidelines.
- Unload ovens and distribute lunches to classrooms.
- Ensure adequate stock levels.
- Follow and maintain work and cleaning schedule.
- Maintain temperature and cleaning records.
- Restock the fruit bowls in each classroom.
- Distribute snacks to classrooms.
- HACCP and Manual Handling Training will be provided.
What were looking for
As you will represent The Lunch Bag in the school community we are looking for people of sound character and good nature. Our values are very important to us and to help improve the life of children across the country we need people who share the same vision.
We do not require you to have the biggest in the building but know that you need to be able to carry 14kg boxes to perform the job.
If you have previous experience working with children or around food then thats great. If you dont please dont let it hold you back and apply anyways! We accept and value people from all backgrounds cultures and professional experiences.

- Is it job offered on a part-time basis
Yes this job is part-time. This position is 4 hours a day Monday through Friday!
- Will I have to work all year long
No! As schools close for the summer we follow their schedule. As a result you will work with us from the start of the school term in August until the end of the school term in June and will have the summer off to enjoy some well-deserved rest!
