EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show demonstrated competence in performing the journey level skills and duties of this position.
Such experience must demonstrate knowledge of: principles and theories of electricity and electronics; practices tools equipment and materials used in the electrical and electronic trades; installation maintenance and repair of electrical/ electronic equipment apparatus and instruments; testing equipment and testing procedures in maintaining and repairing electronic components; laws rules and standards pertaining to electrical/electronic construction and maintenance; occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades. And the ability to: read and interpret blueprints plans diagrams and schematics of electrical and electronic circuits; plan electrical wiring installations; make minor modifications to electrical and electronic circuits; install maintain test repair and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems and equipment; demonstrate proper work methods and set the pace; use appropriate tools electrical/electronic equipment and apparatus; estimate time and material requirements; give and follow oral and written instructions; plan assign and review work of subordinates; encourage safety practices and enforce safety rules; supervise and maintain harmony in work relationships among workers; handle weights and loads.

EMPLOYMENT SUITABILITY:
To determine the selectees employment suitability for this position the Department of Human Resources will review criminal convictions dismissals from employment and separations from military service under other than honorable convictions.
FINGERPRINTING REQUIREMENT: This position will be assigned to service the Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC) and the USN Whitmore Naval Station. Any employee with unescorted access to secured areas and equipment within the JTMC requires a fingerprint-based criminal history record check. Access to the USN Whitmore Naval Station requires a federal background check. Therefore the selectee will be required to be fingerprinted as part of their employment suitability review. The Department of Human Resources will review fingerprint-based state and national criminal history record information from the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
