Job Purpose
The FS Analyst is an IT generalist with knowledge of a myriad of IT systems and solutions. Knowledge of the WAN LAN Server and Desktop architecture is expected. General knowledge of software systems databases client server architecture and infrastructure management tools is also expected. An understanding of the current Infrastructure Services Service Portfolio and processes is required.
A solid background in user support and troubleshooting is critical as this position involves dealing with a large and often changing number of day to day issues which arise in supporting the information technology requirements of HercRentals branches and personnel.
Along with this IT knowledge it is imperative that the incumbent understands HercRentals business goals and managements objectives and priorities. The incumbent collaborates to develop methods and processes for supporting the large and diverse user communitys technology needs within the constraints of the business requirements and the Infrastructure Services Portfolio of offerings.
Good project/time management skills are essential to manage the response to the multitude of requests and issues while working on longer range business needs in a rapidly changing technical environment. The ability to respond quickly when financial manufacturing production or maintenance systems are involved is important.
What you will do...
- Act as communication conduit between Branch Managers staff Infrastructure Services Delivery Team and support Divisional IT Teams.
- Sole point of contact representing Infrastructure Field Services.
- Address and resolve IT concerns and needs of branch user community.
- Attend Branch/Department Staff meetings as needed to communicate our goals and address concerns.
- Responsible for carrying out overall branch IT infrastructure plan.
- Responsible for maintaining Service Level Agreement with the branch and for setting staff expectations.
- Attend Meetings as required by the local branch and management: For Example: Group conference calls Infrastructure Change Management conference calls Branch Change Management conference calls Safety Meetings.
- Occasional travel (up to 25%) as required to field locations to attend face-to-face group meetings and project meetings.
- Oversee onsite IT contractors activities at the branches.
- Works with the staff to develop improvements to the support processes.
- Provide business analysis and consulting functions for assessing user application requirement.
- Take responsibility when appropriate for technical leadership for projects that impact the local site
- Act as technical liaison for rollout of applications and technologies to local site
- Act as technical liaison with vendors who supply purchased products/services to verify compliance and stability at local site
- Overall coordination of local resources for project execution and facility support including Turnaround infrastructure.
- Process resolution issue tickets pertaining to branch field locations
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field is preferable. Equivalent combination of experienceeducation and training will be considered
- 10 years IT experience related to IT Infrastructure support services
- Must have a general understanding of all product and service needs (switches routers patchpanels cabling and data ports) and must maintain knowledge of changing technologies
- Experience working with both long-haul and local exchange carriers providing networkservices (data voice internet and wireless)
- Experience implementing and tracking service level or metrics reporting
- Experience developing processes and implementing policies and procedures
- Ability to work on projects that range in size complexity and duration
- Project management experience
- Strong Communications skills: Written Oral and through Presentation materials
- Working knowledge of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and ITSM (IT Service Management)
- Experience with IT Supplier Relationships
- Knowledge of supplier relationships and tactical plan implementation
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Software suite of products
