Summary

As an Electrician Journeyman on the Facilities Team you will perform installation and maintenance of panel boards switchgears office lighting receptacles and associated equipment analyze electrical malfunctions and other duties as assigned with work on equipment up to 600 volts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must qualify as a Journeyman Electrician
  • Experience in reading construction prints electrical drawings (for trouble shooting) and be familiar with motor controls and National Electrical code.
  • Works indoors and outdoors
  • Must live within reasonable distance (1 hour) of headquarters
  • Must meet and maintain DOT program qualifications
  • Must submit most recent resume with your online bid
  • This position requires working with aerial equipment which has weight restrictions of 300 lbs or less

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial/industrial electrician experience
  • APU/UPS systems and computer room operations experience
  • The ideal candidate filling this vacancy must be self-motivated communicate and work well with others and possess a positive attitude with the highest commitment to work safety.

Additional Information:

  • Subject to out-of-town work
  • Reasonable and necessary overtime may be required
  • Qualifying tests may be given
  • The established headquarters for this position is subject to relocation to the Hub West Service Center a facility that will be located 38 mileswest of downtown Phoenixon a date to be determined by the Company.

*Registered Apprenticeship Program Criteria: Program must have a documented process for hours worked in the field in the work processes associated with the craft e.g. distribution transmission maintenance apprenticeship programs for the trades in question requirehours (3 -5 years).Program must have documented proof of completion of related education classroom apprenticeship programs require a minimum of 144 hours per year of related education courses during the course of the apprenticeship program

Testing Information

Tests are only administered to referred candidates. More information about our tests and the testing process can be found HERE.

A written paper and pencil test will be administered.
A test using a computer with keyboard will be administered.
A hands-on skills test will be administered.

Role Type

Onsite: Requires work to be performed in the field and/or at an APS facility. Depending on the responsibilities of the role this may include but is not limited to working at a power plant job site or in the community.

*Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees).

Eligibility:

Must live or relocate within reasonable distance to the headquarters. Reasonable distance is defined as one (1) hour for Metro and State Region locations. Reasonable distance for Troublemen Local Representatives and Substation Technicians is defined as thirty (30) minutes for Metro locations and forty-five (45) minutes for State Region locations. Failure to accept a job offer due to the reasonable distance requirement specific to the position will be counted toward the bid restriction as described in Article 13 Section 11
