Job Description

Wedding Coordinator

Jefferson Street Inn and Events Center is seeking a highly organized and professional Wedding Coordinator to join our premier events team in Wausau Wisconsin. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional experiences and meticulously executing unforgettable weddings.

We are looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for client satisfaction and a proven ability to manage complex events from conception to flawless completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships ensuring clear communication and meticulous finalization of event details.
  • Collaborate effectively with all hotel departments to guarantee seamless event execution.
  • Monitor and manage contractual agreements including room blocks meeting spaces and food and beverage selections.
  • Provide on-site support and assistance to clients on event days including required Saturday attendance.
  • Conduct site inspections entertain prospective clients and perform outside sales calls to generate new business.
  • Develop and nurture key client relationships to maximize sales across all revenue streams.
  • Apply working knowledge of upscale full-service properties to enhance sales and service efforts.
  • Initiate and diligently follow up on all leads.
  • Maintain professional and positive communication with clients to solicit business address needs and resolve complaints.
  • Demonstrate strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Attend occasional networking functions which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Contribute local market experience and business contacts to sales and service initiatives.
  • Participate in revenue management processes.
  • Exhibit excellent time management delegation and multi-priority handling skills.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving strategic thinking strong negotiation abilities and resourceful decision-making.
  • Conduct independent research and analytical tasks to understand market dynamics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of hotel sales or catering sales experience.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as dictated by event schedules.
