The Opportunity

As the People Leader of a Risk Merchant Monitoring Team youll be steering the risk assessment process for customers both merchants and partners. Your leadership will ensure streamlined processes in regards of ongoing due diligence.

The risk assessment done by the Merchant Monitoring Team could be a part of periodic reviews or triggered by Event Driven Reviews both events trigger a new risk assessment. The process of risk assessing and analyzing an existing merchants account ensures that we have updated KYC data and assess any changes that might affect the merchants risk level. The risk assessment of the merchant focuses on controlling and updating existing KYC information and reviewing the merchants behavior and data from an AML perspective.

The role is new for the market and requires setting up a new team. The team structure is now having four people to start with and the team will grow as well. In merchant monitoring there are already team managers for other markets that you can count on to get support. Your team will be based in Warsaw but it will work with different clients and different regions as well. The role covers all aspect of team management.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Lead mentor support and develop the Risk Merchant Monitoring Team ensuring operational excellence in assessing customer risk
• Ensure that complex cases or those requiring specialized expertise are escalated to the Center of Excellence
• Drive process improvements and work towards harmonizing ongoing due diligence procedures across the group
• Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure consistent application of ODD policies and risk assessments
• Take responsibility for management reporting and tracking of action lists for the team.
• Foster a collaborative team environment ensuring that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities and are working effectively together
• Training and Awareness: Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry best practices related to KYC and anti-money laundering (AML) to ensure compliance awareness among team members.

• You haveunderstanding of KYC AML and other regulatory requirements
• Youve got substantial knowledgein finance business administration or a related field
• You havefull working proficiency in English both written and verbal
• You have previous experience in a similar role within the financial services industry preferably in a payments company or a bank
• You have excellent communication presentation and stakeholder management skills
• You have motivation and passion forteam management.
