The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) has a perfect opportunity for you as a Pavement Condition Engineer !
Job Description:
This position will perform structural pavement analysis and oversee the collection and reporting of pavement condition data. Duties include but are not limited to analyzing Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) data to obtain pavement structure characteristics updating state highway inventory systems and assisting in the processing reporting and delivery of pavement condition data collected by the SDDOTs inertial profiler.
This position is in an office setting Monday through Friday 40 hours per week with occasional overnight travel.

The total compensation of Hourly Wage State/Federal Benefits for a typical year for entry level Pavement Condition Engineer is approximately $89431.00 annually.

- pavement management and design;

- basic familiarity with ArcMap or other GIS applications.

- perform structural pavement analysis on projects identified in Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP);
- analyze asphalt pavement for load limit determinations and requested airport runways;
- conduct analysis and prepare technical reports;
- interpret highway construction plans for inclusion in inventory system;
- develop and assign field testing and inventory schedules;
- prepare accurate and timely highway system information;
