Job Description
This is a strategic CFO position for a steel manufacturing company based in Ahmedabad requiring 15 25 years of finance leadership experience. The role involves driving financial strategy overseeing fundraising and stakeholder relations ensuring compliance and optimizing systems to support sustainable growth. The position reports directly to the Managing Director and is structured as an ongoing retainer engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Shape and execute the company s financial strategy aligned with business goals
Partner with the CEO and Board on strategic decision-making and long-term planning
Provide financial insights to support key operational and commercial initiatives
Assess and manage risks to ensure financial sustainability and growth
Lead preparation for equity/debt fundraising including financial modeling and investor materials
Engage with potential investors lenders and financial advisors during fundraising process
Represent finance in strategic discussions with partners vendors and external stakeholders
Maintain strong relationships with banks auditors and regulatory bodies
Oversee development of annual budgets rolling forecasts and scenario planning
Implement robust FP&A processes to drive data-driven decision-making
Review and refine monthly MIS to ensure timely and accurate performance reporting
Analyze key business drivers and provide actionable financial insights to management
Supervise accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate financial closing
Ensure adherence to Indian accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Strengthen internal controls and compliance systems across the finance function
Coordinate with auditors for smooth and timely completion of statutory audits
Evaluate and enhance finance systems reporting tools and automation capabilities
Standardize financial procedures to improve efficiency accuracy and transparency
Drive implementation of best practices in cost control working capital and cash flow management
Monitor and refine processes to support scalability and readiness for external investment
Requirements
Qualifications:
MBA in Finance or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification required
15 25 years of progressive finance leadership experience preferably in the steel or manufacturing sector
Strong expertise in financial planning budgeting treasury and risk management
Proven ability to drive strategic growth optimize capital structure and ensure regulatory compliance
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills including board-level interaction
Strong leadership team development and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
Knowledge and Skills (Must Have) Proficiency in tax laws, financial reporting, and audit coordination. Strong understanding of compliances related to direct and indirect taxes. Advanced skills in accounting software and financial systems. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and lead a team effectively. Additional Notes The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in handling accounts for a plant or manufacturing unit. This role requires a highly organized individual with a strong background in financial management within the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to improving processes and driving efficiency within the accounting function.
