Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Risk Management Division (RMD) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Claims/Administrative Support professional. In this role youll be instrumental in managing and maintaining our claims system accurately inputting and updating a variety of property general liability and auto claims. This includes coding complex claims and documentation requiring a solid understanding of the claims process and the insurance industry. Youll be the first point of contact for many handling incoming calls emails and physical correspondence from claimants insurance companies law firms and agency staff. A key part of your responsibilities will involve composing creating maintaining and documenting complex analytical work through correspondence and reports. The ideal candidate will have extensive practical experience with Adobe Pro and Google Workspace. Youll provide essential support to the property and liability claims section offering guidance and performing various tasks to assist the department. This position requires a minimum of two in-office days per month to handle tasks such as mail scanning outgoing mail supply restocking and general office duties and youll also assist with projects related to the claims system database.

Job Duties:
  • Analyzing and accurately inputting/updating all property general liability and auto claims into the Risk Management claims system including coding and entering complex claims and documentation received by the division
  • Handle incoming calls electronic correspondence and hard-copy correspondence from claimants insurance companies law firms and agency staff and will compose create maintain and document difficult analytic work in the means of correspondence and reports
  • Provides support to the property and liability claims section providing guidance and performing miscellaneous tasks in support of the department
  • The position is required to perform in-office duties consisting of mail scanning outgoing mail supply restocking and general office tasks and will assist with various projects related to the claims system database
Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • General knowledge of state government operations statutes rules and procedures
  • Technical requirements include analyzing evaluating and a good understanding of insurance and risk management
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Suite products and secure systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge in administrative support functions and office management practices
  • Knowledge in paperless systems data validation and conditional formatting
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processing

Selective Preference(s):
  • Prior experience in the public sector demonstrating an understanding of government operations regulations and unique administrative processes is a preferred qualification
Pre-Employment Requirements:
