Job Description

McGuire Fecarotta & Jackson has been engaged by a highly regarded law firm to assist in the search for a Senior Commercial Litigation Associate. This opportunity is ideal for a litigator seeking high-level responsibility in complex matters involving the energy industry and regulatory disputes.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced associate with 4 to 8 years of commercial litigation experience ideally with a background or strong interest in energy-sector disputes and regulatory matters. This role offers regular courtroom exposure strategic case involvement and the opportunity to work closely with clients and senior attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for clients in commercial and regulatory litigation including matters involving energy markets and utility regulation.
  • Lead or support all phases of litigation pleadings motion practice discovery depositions hearings and trial prep.
  • Draft and argue motions; take and defend depositions; prepare trial materials and expert witness submissions.
  • Engage directly with clients and collaborate with partners to develop and execute litigation strategy.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 4-8 years of commercial litigation experience with a strong preference for candidates familiar with energy disputes regulatory litigation or proceedings before utility commissions.
  • Excellent legal research writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to lead litigation workstreams independently and manage multiple active matters.
  • Admission to the Texas Bar or eligibility to waive in is required.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $255000 - $320000 depending on experience and qualifications.
