The University of Southern Maines Office of Educator Preparation and Department of Teacher Education seeks qualified candidates to serve in the role of internship field supervisor.
Field supervisors typically oversee 4-8 interns per semester largely within the same school district or neighboring school districts. They act as the liaison between the university faculty cohort coordinator and the intern and mentor-teacher in the classroom. For each intern the supervisor conducts goal-setting and mid- and end-of-placement evaluations with the intern and mentor-teacher; completes a minimum of three formal classroom observations; and may also conduct informal classroom observations. The supervisor also provides an end of semester rating for each intern through the university data collection system. The supervisor controls their own schedule arranging all meetings and observations. Supervisors can expect consistent communication with and support from the faculty cohort coordinator.
Responsibilities:
Pay: $375 per intern placement. On average a supervisor will take on at least 5 interns with mileage reimbursement given based on home district
