Qualifications:

Scope of Position: The Community Services and Volunteer Assistant will provide clerical and project support to the Corps Officer assist in the management of the Volunteer Program and volunteers.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required:

Professional: The ability to work in a distinctively Christian environment the ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive professional manner in conformity with The Salvation Army Mission Statement. The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Must possess the self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive tasks without lowering quality of work. Able to work with limited supervision and work in a team setting with other professionals. Exercises good judgment and be comfortable taking initiative with projects. This can be a high-pressure position to meet deadlines.

Equipment: The following equipment may be used: telephone computer copy machines calculator and motor vehicles.

Skills & Abilities:

Working Conditions: This position may have frequent phone and in person contact with people from diverse backgrounds who may be angry hostile confused or frustrated.

As with any position with The Salvation Army it is impossible to predict the many requests and

assignments that may be made on an employee. Flexibility and a cooperative spirit are crucial

characteristics of the individual who holds this important position.

This position has access to confidential and private information. It is essential that confidentiality and privacy he observed.

Miscellaneous: The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal history

information check. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude employment. The

circumstances involved in the conviction(s) will be considered.

The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a motor vehicle record check. They must have a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record.

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without
