Summary of the Role:

Specialist Standardization Process Engineering is responsible for leading the development regular updating and maintaining GES Global Engineering Standards for Process Engineering aspects Special Process Equipment Process Safety devices & Process package units. Additionally this position is also responsible for providing process engineering inputs for Mechanical piping & instrumentation standards. This position should be well versed with & always updated with all the related engineering standards codes latest industrial practices new developments for Process Engineering Process safety devices for specialty chemical industry. This position is responsible for driving global programs for Standardization. And with GES usage & implementation drive improve operational safety achieve cost reduction by collaborating with global stakeholders within operation and procurement organization. This position will collaborate & engage with diverse team / experts within and outside Lubrizol to seek develop update & maintain the GES.


Responsibilities:

Develop maintain & updated GES guidelines and procedures for various Process Engineering aspects Special Process Equipment Process Safety devices.
Providing process engineering inputs for Mechanical piping & instrumentation standards.
Take inputs from the Global stake holders to align these GES to leverage Lubrizols learning / best practices ensuring a versatile handy document for all the users at all Lubrizol sites.
Collaboration with the global and regional stakeholders to understand the requirements & priority expediate the standardization process and meet the overall program advantage to the corporation.
Monitor industry trends and best practices set up mechanism to know the changes in relevant Process Engineering codes of API ASME NFPA OSHA AIChE PIP -Process Industry practice.
To continuously update GES & standardization efforts.
Collaborate with GES team colleague to ensure consistency in standardization for all the functions.
Seek customer feedback both positive and negative and provide feedback to the manager. Make necessary changes / modifications in GES strategy and communicate back.
Collaborate with global stakeholders within operation and procurement organization leveraging GES to drive improvements in operational safety & cost reduction.
Support Operation & Engineering team implement GES at their site across the organization. Interpreting the requirements and convert it into workable solutions. Consistent communication is the key.
Provide training and support to engineering teams on standard implementation.
Performing each task from inception to conclusion to the highest possible standards is the essence for the role.

Education

Bachelors / Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed university.

Experience and Skills

15 years of experience in Chemical Process Industry. Last assignment (minimum 8 years) for Process engineering streams in a consulting firm or design department of a large specialty chemical process industry.
A solid understanding of the principles of Standardization process. Around 7- 8 years hands on experience Process engineering Process safety Process safety devices standardization Process input for other engineering standards.
By virtue of his experience it is expected that candidate will have thorough exposure to the majority area of below list.
Sound knowledge of Chemical plant unit operations (Distillations filtration separation Heat & mass transfer) is must.
Process Engineering aspects of various types of equipment such as Pressure vessels Reactors agitator mixers filters blenders pumps. Process package equipment for specialty chemical industry
Identifying potential hazards and implementing safety protocols to mitigate risks.
In depth understanding of MOC selection criteria.
Understanding safety studies (HAZOP QRA PHA LOPA etc.)
Basic knowledge of instrumentation for specialty chemical industry.
Proficient in relevant Process Engineering codes such API ASME NFPA OSHA AIChE PIP -Process Industry practice
Earlier experience of dealing / interacting with renowned local / global consulting -engineering firms equipment manufacturers is preferred.
Experience in a Global organization environment will have clear advantage.
Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (also including Power point for presentations) Various forms of database.
Ability to understand the requirements through remote interaction asking prompt questions analyzing provided information.
Fluency in English is must. Attention to details and accuracy - perfection meticulousness in drafting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the team & other LZ global stake holders. Ability to work independently and as well collaboratively in a team environment.
