Dental Assistant Full-Time
- Location: Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health and Community Services (Winnunga AHCS) Narrabundah ACT
- Salary: $60000 $65000 per annum super salary packaging
- Employment Type: Ongoing Full-Time 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9:00 am 5:00 pm)
Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health and Community Services (Winnunga AHCS) is a dynamic community-controlled primary health care service committed to providing culturally safe and holistic care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the ACT and surrounding regions.
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Dental Assistant to join our Clinical Services team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of quality oral health care and education to our clients and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists and oral health professionals during procedures including chairside support and dental material preparation
- Prepare and maintain dental rooms and equipment in line with infection control protocols
- Support the delivery of oral health education and promotion
- Accurately chart dental conditions and maintain client clinical records
- Provide a calm respectful and reassuring environment for all clients
- Assist with clients with special needs both in clinical and community settings
- Contribute to administrative and reception duties when required
To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting (essential)
- Previous experience working as a Dental Assistant (essential)
- Excellent communication interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Commitment to cultural safety and sensitivity in all client interactions
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- WWVP (Working With Vulnerable People) registration or willingness to obtain
