Minimum Qualifications
Must posses one of the following:
An Associates Degree from an accredited university or college.
48 college credit hours
Para Professional Assessment Score of 450 or higher and a high school diploma.
Job Specification
The paraeducator assists in the delivery of services under the supervision of a teacher and/ or other professionals who has the responsibility for the delivery of services to children. The position involves the performance of instructional and non-instructional tasks.
Job Duties and Other Information
Observes proper lines of communications
Maintains confidentiality of school and student records.
Pursues professional growth opportunities through participation in training sessions and workshops.
Notifies the principal promptly in case of absence.
Supervises the classroom when the teacher is out; assists in supervising classroom during the teachers presence.
Assists in planning and preparation of the learning environment.
Assists in the implementation of the daily lessons under the directions of the teacher.
Assists in filing grading copying as directed by the teacher or principal.
Assists in the operation of classroom equipment.
Completes all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
Treats all students with respect.
Assists in maintaining a clean learning environment.
Completes other duties as assigned by principal.
Abides by school facility and agency at all times.
Serves as an Acceptable model for students in grooming dress and conduct.
Accepts and makes use of constructive criticism to improve work performance
Demonstrates person and intellectual honesty.
Refrains from undue sarcasm undue criticism inappropriate language and behavior and use of racial and/or ethnic slurs.
The incumbent will work 7.5 hours per work day.
